Here is an update of all of the upcoming PTO events and happenings!!

Movie Knight

Our last Movie Knight of the year is Friday, April 11 and we will be screening "A Dolphin's Tale" in the KME cafeteria starting at 6:15 pm. If you haven't done so, please turn in your reservation form as soon as possible! More information regarding Movie Knight can be found on our blog under the "Events/Fundraisers" tab.

Mileage Club

Mileage Club is going strong! Each Monday, Wednesday and Friday during recess, children have the chance to complete laps to earn tokens! Please remind your children to wear appropriate shoes on those days so that they can participate. If you are interested in helping with Mileage Club, please contact Kim Renzenbrink at skrenz@msn.com.

Crystal Clear Science

KME PTO will be hosting the Crystal Clear Science Program for all of our students today and tomorrow. This is a fun way for our children to learn more about science so be sure to ask your children how the program was!!

Breakfast for Brains

Each year, the KME PTO sponsors a fun breakfast for the third and fourth grade classes prior to their testing days. We can always use extra hands to help prepare and clean up this event -- the dates are Tuesday, April 29 and Thursday, May 1 for the third grade and Tuesday, May 6 and Thursday, May 8 for the fourth grade. If you can help any of these mornings, please contact Jenny Circello at jenny.circello@gmail.com.

Important Reminders

• Please check your Kroger Plus card to ensure that you have linked it up with our PTO to help us earn funds from Kroger. Just go to Kroger.com/community rewards to do this. Please note -- you have to re-enroll each April so please check your account!
• Papa John's Pizza Night is Tuesday, April 22 and the classes are competing to earn a pizza party! It's a great way to help our school and save you time!
• The Kings Local School District Board Meeting is Tuesday, April 15 at 6:30 pm in the KEC Building. It is important that parents try to attend this meeting so that we can learn more about our district's activities and operations plus it shows community support.

KME PTO Blog Blast "Extra" 4/3/2014

Hi KME Families! We discussed many upcoming events at our PTO meeting this week that we wanted to send out an additional reminder regarding all of the fun things occurring at our school!

After-School Programs

The deadline for registration has been extended! If you are interested in signing your child up for Tumbling, Soccer Shots and/or Mad Science for the spring, please click on the "Programs" tab on our blog for more information and how to enroll.

Garden Club

The Garden Club has a few events coming up that will help get our landscapes ready for spring! If you are interested, please contact Stacia Cukovecki at cukevb@yahoo.com.

Mileage Club

It's finally spring (hopefully!) so Mileage Club will be starting up the week of April 7. For three weeks, our children will be able to log miles and earn tokens during their recess time. The children are very excited for this so we need many volunteers to help staff the "marking stations"! Please contact Kim Renzenbrink at skrenz@msn.com for more information on how to volunteer.

Hope that everyone had a great Spring Break! Now we are back to school for the last few months -- time has flown! Here is a quick update of the KME PTO's happenings....

Next PTO Meeting -- THIS EVENING!

Please join us on Tuesday, April 1st at 6:30 pm in the Media Center for our monthly PTO meeting. As always, children are welcome to attend. We hope to see you there!

KME Movie Knight

Our last Movie Knight of the year is coming up quickly! In honor of Earth Day,we will be screening "Dolphin Tale" (rated PG) on Friday, April 11 from 6:30 pm to 8:15 pm in the KME cafeteria. Be sure to wear "green" and bring something comfy to sit on during the show!

Advanced reservations and payment are required for this event and are due on April 9. The cost is $5 per student and this includes a slice of pizza, popcorn and a drink. For an additional $10, up to 4 family members can enjoy this same deal. Please keep in mind that children need to have an adult chaperon in attendance.

Papa John's Night

Help your child's classroom win a pizza party! Our last Papa John's pizza night is coming up on Tuesday, April 22. All you need to do is call Papa John's in Maineville at 513.494.0199 and tell them you are from KME. Then, after you enjoy your order, just send in your receipt or the sticker off of the pizza box labeled with your teacher's name. Not only do we earn 10% of the sales, but your class can win a pizza party!

Peanut Butter Drive -- THANKS!!

Thanks to the generosity of our KME families, we were able to donate 180 jars of peanut butter to the Kings Power Pack Program. Thanks to everyone who participated!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! While we are celebrating everything "GREEN" today, you may have noticed a "GREEN" flyer in the Friday folders....

Yes, it is time for our Peanut Butter Drive!!

Please join the KME PTO in helping to fight hunger in our community. In order to aid Joshua's Place, we would like to collect 250 18-20 oz. jars of creamy peanut butter for the Kings Power Pack Program during the week of March 17 -21. PTO Meeting -- Tomorrow!

As part of our continuing goal to honor and recognize our wonderful teachers and staff, the PTO will be serving dinner during the night of parent-teacher conferences -- March 13, 2014. Extravaganza Thanks

Our Extravaganza is tomorrow -- Saturday, February 22 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm!!! We hope that you are excited to come and experience all that this event has to offer....

KME PTO Blog Blast -- Extravaganza!!

Extravaganza is this Saturday!!! Please make plans to join us on February 22 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm to enjoy all of the fun events that we have planned for you!!

The schedule is as follows:

11:00 am to 3:00 pm     Concessions, carnival games, inflatables, face painting/tattoos
11:00 am to 2:30 pm     Cake Walk in the Science Lab
11:00 am to 2:30 pm     Balloon Art in the Gym
11:00 am to 2:00 pm     Split the Pot Raffle
11:00 am to 2:30 pm     Basket Raffle and Silent Auction
2:30 pm to 3:00 pm       Winners announced in the cafeteria

A few reminders:

• You will need to purchase tickets for all of the games and activities. Tickets will be sold at the entrance to the event and inside the gym.
• This year, you will also need to purchase tickets for all of the concession stand items (the food) with the exception of the Kona Ice booth -- they require cash.
