KME PTO Extra Blast!!

Hi Everyone!! Here are some urgent reminders from PTO regarding our activities next week:

2013 KME Holiday Kids Shop

It's right around the corner! The children are getting really excited to purchase their gifts for the holidays. We are in NEED of volunteers to assist the week of Monday, December 9 to Friday, December 13 to help ensure that this event is a success. Please click on the following link to volunteer -- Holiday Kids Shop Volunteer

Also, remember to complete the shopping budget sheet and send this in with your child (along with money) on the day that they shop. The shopping schedule is on the blog under "Events/Fundraisers".

2013 KME Vendor/Craft Fair

Is a week from today!! We are still looking for vendors and crafters interested in participating. Please contact Angie Purcell-Hood at angieloves31@gmail.com for more information.

Macy's Make-A-Wish Campaign -- A Fun Way to Help!

Sage Burress, a 4th grade student at J.F. Burns and an Ambassador for the Macy’s Make-A-Wish Campaign, is challenging all children to reach the goal of a $1,000,000.00 by December 6th.

Here’s how you can help. Bring to school a postage stamped letter addressed to “Santa At The North Pole” by this Friday, December 6. For each letter received Macy’s will donate $1.00 to the Make-A- Wish Foundation.

KME PTO Blog Blast 12/2/2013

Welcome back! We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday.... We have so many events coming up so please take a few minutes to review our update!!

PTO Meeting

Our next PTO meeting is TOMORROW -- Tuesday, December 3 starting at 6:30 pm in the Media Center. As always, children are welcome. We hope to see you there!!

2013 Holiday Kids Shop

Can you believe that this fun event starts next Monday? We will be holding our annual Holiday Kids Shop starting on Monday, December 9 through Friday, December 13. If you can volunteer to help our children shop for their loved ones, please click on this link -- Holiday Kids Shop Volunteer.

Also, your child will be bringing home a "budget sheet" that will help them shop. Please complete this information and send it back with your child on their shopping day so that we will be able to help them pick the perfect gifts! You can also find a copy of this sheet on our blog under "Events/Fundraisers".

KME Movie Knight

This Friday evening brings our next Movie Knight! Starting at 6:15 pm, we will be screening "Rise of the Guardians" (rated PG) in the KME cafeteria. Since this is in the evening, adult chaperons are required for each child.

Reservations are required for this event and are due back to school by Wednesday, December 4. Please go to the "Events/Fundraisers" tab on our blog for a copy of the registration forms.

2013 KME Vendor/Craft Fair

On Thursday, December 12 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, the KME PTO will be sponsoring our annual Vendor and Craft Fair. If you are interested in participating, please contact Angie Purcell-Hood at angieloves31@gmail.com. More information and registration forms can be found on our blog under the "Events/Fundraisers" tab.

KME PTO Coat Drive

During the week of December 9, we will be collecting brand-new winter coats for children in need. This is a great opportunity to teach our children the importance of giving back to our community. Please click on the information sheet on our blog under the "Events/Fundraisers" tab for more information or contact Hazel Bloomfield at bloomfield91@gmail.com. Thanks!!

Class Baskets for Extravaganza

Our planning for the annual KME Extravaganza is already in full swing! One of the fun things about this event are the baskets that are raffled off to lucky winners. In order to continue the tradition of "stuffing" these baskets full of goodies, we ask that each class donates items based on each theme of the baskets. Please refer to the information under the "Events/Fundraisers" tab on the blog for more information.

Thanks!!

  • Thanks to everyone who contributed homemade bread to the PTO for our wonderful teachers, staff, after-school caregivers and bus drivers -- the treats were much appreciated!! Thanks also to Heidi Pasqualetti, Erin Deutsch and the Teacher Appreciation Committee for organizing this event!
  • The students in Mrs. Weed's 4th grade class have been working really hard to create a weekly newspaper outlining events going on at KME. The paper is sold every Thursday for 25 cents and all proceeds are being donated to the KME PTO. Thank you from the PTO!!
