A Few Last Reminders....

Only two more days until another school year ends! We are so grateful to all of our teachers, staff and volunteers that provide our students with an outstanding learning environment!

THANKS to Jaci Mrozek, Jen Adams, Paul Harris and Mr. Jenkins for their help in organizing and presenting the annual KME Talent Show!

THANKS to Mr. Honthy and all of the student and parent assistants for making the week-long Field Day fun and exciting!!

THANKS to Kim Renzenbrink and parent volunteers for a fun spring session of Mileage Club and congratulations to all of the top walkers! We are looking forward to another great year of Mileage Club!

And lastly, we would like to thank all of the committees that have lent a helping hand during this entire school year. We could not have done it without you!! Thank you so much for making this a rewarding year for students and staff at KME. Looking forward to another great year next year!

A FEW REMINDERS

• School Supply order forms are due on May 31st.

• 4th Grade Awards and Picnic Celebration begins at 11:00 am on May 30th in the gym followed by a lunch provided by PTO in the cafeteria.

• We are still in need of the following volunteers for the 2013-14 school year -- Community Outreach, Copy Coordinator, Fourth Grade Etiquette Lunch, Fourth Grade Picnic, Garden Club, Ice Cream Social, Papa John's, Volunteer Coordinator and Volunteer On-Call. KME Field Days are upon us! The kids will enjoy a fun-filled day with games, bounce houses and the ever-so-popular Foamtastic! 

We are looking for a couple of volunteers to help with a first aid station for minor bumps and scrapes. Please consider helping on one or more of the field days/times below.

May Updates

Can you believe that we only have 12 more days of school? We have many events going on in these last 12 days so be sure to check out the Calendar of Events on the blog for the latest information regarding all of the fun activities that we have going on at KME!!

Talent Show

Come out and view all of the amazing talent that we have at KME! On May 17, 20 and 22, many of our students will be showcasing their talents during the annual Talent Show. Please check out the Calendar of Events for more detailed information.

Field Day

Beginning on May 21, each class will be participating in Field Day events. The students look forward to this fun event each year! We are looking for a few parents to assist each day during Field Day -- if you are interested, please contact Nyioka Phalen at nyioka@gmail.com for more information.

Garden Club

The Garden Club, along with Go Cincinnati (a volunteer team), will come together on May 18 to weed and mulch the landscape beds at KME. We are looking for helping hands! If you are interested in helping, please contact Emily Robinson at emilyrobinson45039@gmail.com or you can just show up! Feel free to bring along any gardening tools that you may need.

3rd & 4th Grade Reminder

Attention 3rd & 4th Grade Families 

4th Grade Familes: 

Please join us for the 4^th Grade Awards and Picnic Celebration on Thursday, May 30,  2013. The awards ceremony will begin at 11am in the gymnasium, followed by a picnic lunch in the cafeteria, consisting of Jimmy Johns sandwiches, chips, fruit, cookies and bottled water.

RSVP forms for the 4th Grade Awards and Picnic Celebration are due this Friday, May 10th. You may also print an RSVP form below.

3rd Grade Families: 

It's not too late to help carry on the tradition of celebrating our outgoing 4th grade classmates in their transition to Columbia. Any donation would be greatly appreciated, however, the suggested amount is $2.00. Please return your cash or check donation in a sealed invelope marked "Picnic Donations" by Friday, May 10th. Checks can be made payable to KME PTO.

Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week -- May 6-10, 2013

Let's celebrate Hollywood Style and honor all of the stars at KME -- our teachers and staff! Here are some fun ideas on how to say "thank you" during this "star-studded" week:

Monday: Bring in a favorite flower or plant for your teacher -- Thank you for helping our minds grow!

Tuesday: Bring in a glue stick to help restock the classroom -- Thank you for sticking with us!

Wednesday: Bring in a pencil and write a thank you note of appreciation for your teacher -- Thank you for steering us in the "write" direction!

Thursday: Bring in hand sanitizer, anti-bacterial wipes or fruit for your teacher -- Thank you for keeping us healthy!

Friday: Bring in highlighters, markers or crayons to restock your teacher's classroom -- Thank you for making our year colorful and bright! Also, be sure to wear your favorite "dress-up" accessory to celebrate Hollywood Style! Top Hats, Bow Ties, Dresses and Sparkly Jewelry are some fun ideas.

KME PTO Meeting -- May 7, 2013

Please join us for our last PTO meeting of the year -- Tuesday, May 7 at 6:30 pm in the Media Center. We will introduce the 2013-2014 PTO officers and discuss the end-of-the-year activities. All PTO meetings are kid-friendly. We hope to see you there!

A big THANK YOU to everyone who has donated their time, energy and talents to KME this year! To show appreciation for all that you have done for our school, we would like to celebrate your generosity with a Volunteer Luncheon on Friday, May 17 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm in the Math/Science Lab.
