Talent Show
Come out and view all of the amazing talent that we have at KME! On May 17, 20 and 22, many of our students will be showcasing their talents during the annual Talent Show. Please check out the Calendar of Events for more detailed information.
Field Day
Beginning on May 21, each class will be participating in Field Day events. The students look forward to this fun event each year! We are looking for a few parents to assist each day during Field Day -- if you are interested, please contact Nyioka Phalen at nyioka@gmail.com for more information.
Garden Club
The Garden Club, along with Go Cincinnati (a volunteer team), will come together on May 18 to weed and mulch the landscape beds at KME. We are looking for helping hands! If you are interested in helping, please contact Emily Robinson at emilyrobinson45039@gmail.com or you can just show up! Feel free to bring along any gardening tools that you may need.

Celebration on Thursday,
May 30, 2013. The awards ceremony will begin at
11am in the gymnasium, followed by a picnic lunch in the cafeteria, consisting
of Jimmy Johns sandwiches, chips, fruit, cookies and bottled water.
RSVP forms for the 4th Grade Awards and Picnic Celebration are due this Friday, May 10th. You may also print an RSVP form below.
3rd Grade Families:
It's not too late to help carry on the tradition of celebrating our outgoing 4th grade classmates in their transition to Columbia. Any donation would be greatly appreciated, however, the suggested amount is $2.00. Please return your cash or check donation in a sealed invelope marked "Picnic Donations" by Friday, May 10th. Checks can be made payable to KME PTO.

KME PTO May Update
Keep up with all of the KME PTO May activities here!
Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week -- May 6-10, 2013
Let's celebrate Hollywood Style and honor all of the stars at KME -- our teachers and staff! Here are some fun ideas on how to say "thank you" during this "star-studded" week:
Monday: Bring in a favorite flower or plant for your teacher -- Thank you for helping our minds grow!
Tuesday: Bring in a glue stick to help restock the classroom -- Thank you for sticking with us!
Wednesday: Bring in a pencil and write a thank you note of appreciation for your teacher -- Thank you for steering us in the "write" direction!
Thursday: Bring in hand sanitizer, anti-bacterial wipes or fruit for your teacher -- Thank you for keeping us healthy!
Friday: Bring in highlighters, markers or crayons to restock your teacher's classroom -- Thank you for making our year colorful and bright! Also, be sure to wear your favorite "dress-up" accessory to celebrate Hollywood Style! Top Hats, Bow Ties, Dresses and Sparkly Jewelry are some fun ideas.

Kindergarten Registration
We would like to thank all of the new (and current!) families at Kindergarten registration. We are looking forward to seeing you next year at our KME events!
Attention -- Fourth Grade Parents
Please mark your calendars and save the date for the KME Fourth Grade Awards Ceremony and Picnic Celebration! This fun day will take place on Thursday, May 30 beginning at 11:00 am in the gymnasium and then will be followed by a picnic lunch in the cafeteria. Please look in Friday Folders for additional information in the up-coming weeks.
Mileage Club
The spring session of Mileage Club begins on Monday, April 22 and will continue (on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) through May 10 during recess. We are always looking for parents to be "lap markers" during this time -- if you would like to attend your child's recess, come on up and help "mark" the students' cards as they complete their laps. If you are interested in volunteering during recess time (11:00 am to 1:00 pm) on any of the Mileage Club days, please contact Kim Rezenbrink at skrenz@msn.com or at 616.5593. There is also a sign-in sheet in the lobby. Thanks in advance!!

No adult supervision is required (PTO will sponsor the supervision) but there is a cost of $5 per child. Please refer to the attachment for more information and the RSVP form.
